About Me
My name is Allison Bloome. I'm a thirty-something-year-old woman living in the United States. I share a loving home with my long-term partner, plus the various animals that wander through our flowerbeds. I'm an aspiring author, hobbyist filmmaker, and tabletop game enthusiast. I'm also an artist who is still, after all these years, incredibly trepidatious about putting art out into the world to be publicly experienced... and critiqued.

This website exists in its current state to display those artistic endeavors — from quick sketches and heavy inks to digital proofs and material products. These varied mediums, and the techniques used, have largely developed organically as I have no formal education in the arts. While I grew up with familial artists, I instead looked to information technology when it came time to choose a career. After all, everyone knows of the "starving artist," but not many people have heard of a "starving code monkey."

Droyne Coyns
This bag of thirty-six zinc alloy coins, each approximately the size of a U.S. half dollar, operates as a game aid and in-universe prop for the legendary Traveller roleplaying game.

Given to the Droyne by their creator, an Ancient known as Yaskoydray, the coyns are used to impose order where there would otherwise be chaos. The coyns are primarily used as a divination tool for any number of scenarios, but are perhaps most important when pulled to determine the caste of a young Droyne.

This incarnation of coyns also includes a deck of cards, each matching and elaborating upon the symbols seen throughout. Along with this Deck of Revelations, players will find several instructional cards and a link to the digital manual. Everything fits tidily in the included fabric bag, itself emblazoned with the Droyne symbol.

This product was successfully crowdfunded in the summer of 2021. All art, layout, and graphic design by Allison Bloome. Rules and game design by Nicole Beach of Cheese Weasel Logistics, with credit to Marc Miller for the original Traveller RPG setting.
To Honor Grandfather
Play as a young Droyne in the universe of the legendary Traveller roleplaying game!

To Honor Grandfather is a dice-driven boardgame that see players traveling to various planetary systems to complete encounters, and hopefully, gain enough honor to draw the approving gaze of their creator, Grandfather. (Yaskoydray for those who speak Oynprith.)

Included in the box are six custom six-sided dice (6d6), thirty-two system cards, sixty encounter cards, four player boards, a card to represented Grandfather, and a central board to house Grandfather. Also included are a variety of tokens and a full-color manual.

This product was successfully crowdfunded in the winter of 2022. All art, layout, and graphics design by Allison Bloome. Rules and game design by Nicole Beach of Cheese Weasel Logistics, with credit to Marc Miller for the original Traveller RPG setting.

The Vilis Subsector expansion pack, crowdfunded simultaneously, introduces a fourth and fifth player board, planets from a new part of space, more powerful encounters, as well as unique powers and objectives for each player.
Inktober
I decided, somewhat on a lark, to participate in "Inktober" of 2019.

For those unaware, this entails creating one original piece of art per day for the entire month, each based off of a themed prompt. This was a fun challenge, and produced some interesting pieces, but it was also exhausting.

I only made it about two weeks before I petered out. I still see a lot of flaws in each of these pieces, primarily due to the time constraints, but am on the whole more pleased than not .
Sketches
A disorganized collection of miscellaneous pieces, almost all in pencil. There were, for one reason or another, never quite finished. Some did become larger pieces however, being inked and even colored!
Digital Art
This collection represents an entirely digital output. Most are, as you will see, logos of one kind or another. This sort of marketing and commercial design is not at all uncommon for me.
Painting
I don't paint very often, but when I do I almost always use acrylics. Maybe it's because I'm an uncultured amateur when it comes to the brush, but I greatly prefer the speed of drying, ease of cleanup, and vibrancy of ready-made colors.

All of the pieces shown here are displayed on purpose-built canvases, each measuring approximately 27x40 inches.
